Mrs J E A Brierley

Head Teacher

I have worked in education in Oldham for all of my career. I have worked as an Ofsted Inspector and Education Consultant supporting schools facing challenge. I am passionate about facilitating the very best possible start to our children’s learning journey, here at Glodwick. I want every child at Glodwick to ‘be the best that they can be’. The children of Glodwick are my first priority.  When I am not at school I enjoy reading, cooking, cars and motorbikes!

Miss S Peachey  Co-opted Governor

My name is Sue Peachey and as well as being a governor I am also one of the Deputy Head teachers.  I enjoy my role as a governor as I am committed to making Glodwick Infant and Nursery School the best it can be.  I have a particular interest in developing Mathematics across the school.  I live in Oldham and have three children, a grandchild and two dogs.

Mrs B Entwistle

Acting Chair / Vice Chair / Co-opted Governor

I am a retired Primary Headteacher and have a grandchild currently going through primary education. I love to travel abroad as often as possible and try to keep physically and mentally fit. I am honoured to be a Governor at this outstanding school where children receive a wonderful and varied education.

Mr M Mahmood

Parent Governor

My Name is Mufti Helal Mahmood and by profession I am a Minister of Religion.  I have been a governor at the school for more than 5 years. I enjoy supporting the school and looking at how we can improve the school in terms of the curriculum. I also like to promote the school and value the hard work the teachers and students put into achieve their very best. I also, at times, advocate between the school and the community and try my level best to make sure everything in school is managed in an effective way.

Cllr S Mushtaq

Associate

I am a local councillor for Alexandra Ward and currently Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, I have previously been a governor at a secondary school and am a governor at the Oldham College. I work closely with and represent the local communities who send their children to the school. I live, work and play in OIldham!

Mr M Plant

Co-opted Governor

I am a retired secondary school Senior Teacher and Head of English. I always loved my job and so it is a pleasure to contribute what I can as a governor to such a successful and happy school as here at Glodwick. If I have a special interest, it is in the development of literacy and the arts in education.

Mrs M Russell

Staff Governor

I am passionate about my teaching and leadership responsibilities and becoming a member of the governing body has added a new dimension to my role as Deputy Head Teacher. It has also created further opportunities that have enabled me to make a positive impact on the children of Glodwick.  I am married and have three sons. One has just started teaching at another Oldham primary school, whist my younger two children attend Crompton House Secondary school.
