Homework

Your Child's homework will be put onto Class Dojo every week by their class teacher.

With a wide range of fun activities we have been mindful of what may be available at home.

Please take pictures of your child completing the activity and upload to Class Dojo for the class teacher to see their fantastic learning.

Part of your child's homework is reading for around 10 minutes each day.

If you are having any issues with Class Dojo please speak to the class teacher.

Ten Tips for Talking

Talking is really important in child development and at Glodwick we strongly believe even the smallest things can help.

Here are some really simple things that you can do to support the development of your child’s speech, language and communication skills, from birth to age five.

Workshop Handouts for Parents

At Glodwick we try to involve parents as much as possible and we often host parent workshops in school for parents to attend.

Annual Curriculum Overview 2022-23

In the EYFS we consider children’s interests when planning our curriculum.  We aim to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum that will provide children with the opportunity to make as much progress as possible whilst developing a love and enthusiasm for learning.

We create a simple plan based on our observations of children’s interests as they enter Nursery and Reception.  The details of the curriculum to be taught are added each half term but can be subject to change depending on the children.

A more detailed plan is added onto the class pages at the beginning of each half term so you can see what your child will be learning in school and use this to help support them with their learning at home.

Vocabulary

In the Early Years we realise the importance of developing children’s vocabulary.  We use a wide range of books and stories to help extend children’s vocabulary.

Please help to support this by looking at the vocabulary sheets and help your child to use this vocabulary at home.

The more children hear and use new words the more they can remember them.

Children with a wider range of vocabulary often make the best progress at school.

Please keep checking the website regularly for new vocabulary sheets.
