Class 6 have PE on a Monday and a Friday.
Our library day is Monday.
Please make sure you bring your book bag into school each day and change your reading book.
Please make sure you read with your child every day. This is really important to make sure they make the best possible progress. Children can then change their reading books everyday to help them make the best possible progress.
Home learning is given out on a Thursday and needs to be brought back to school on a Monday. If you need any help with this please ask your teacher.
In year 1 homework is given at the beginning of each half term. There are a selection of activities to be completed that cover the different areas of the curriculum. Your child should complete one or two activities each week and aim to finish them all by the last week of each half term.
The activities have been designed to support your child’s learning in school and develop a positive attitude towards home learning. Please support your child as they complete the activities.
It is vital that your child reads every day at home. This will help them to make the best possible progress. To support this children should change their book each morning as they come into school. Please make sure they choose a book from the colour book band they are currently reading.
Children have a home reading record that should be signed each time they read. These are checked weekly by the class teacher and a reader of the week is chosen and their photograph displayed in the classroom.
