Celebrating Success at Glodwick 2022-23
Celebration Assembly is held each week on a Friday at 9.15am. There is a Celebration Assembly led by the EYFS Lead and Deputy Head Teacher in the Nursery at 11am and at 2.30pm each Friday.
We present an array of awards each Friday, including:
Two English Awards, celebrating speaking and listening and a love of Reading.
Speaking and Listening Certificate and Sticker
The Gillian Mansfield Award for Reading, Certificate and Sticker
(We present The Gillian Mansfield Award each week in our Celebration Assembly for Reading. The award is in memory of Mrs Mansfield who was a passionate reader and a teaching assistant at our school, prior to her untimely passing.)
Learner of the Week
Each week a child is chosen and crowned as the Glodwick King or Queen. They preside over assembly on their special throne and receive a certificate and sticker. The award is given for a very special achievement.
Class and Individual Attendance
Each week class attendance is calculated and the class with the best attendance wins an award trophy to display in their classroom.
Individual attendance is rewarded half termly with a certificate and termly with a prize.
There is a weekly raffle for each year group children who have attended every day for the past week. The lucky winner receives a prize and a sticker.
Head Teacher's Awards
Each week a child is chosen from each class for a special achievement and presented with a Head Teacher’s signed certificate and a sticker.
Lunchtime Award:
Children in the infant department are rewarded with doubloons from the treasure chest in the hall for following the Lunchtime Rules. The doubloons are counted up each Thursday afternoon and the winning class play percussion egg shakers to accompany the assembly song.
At the end of each term the doubloons for each class for each week are added up and the total number of doubloons may be exchanged for a classroom gift from the online Glodwick Shop.
Children achieving certificates are celebrated weekly on our school website.
